Wednesday, the coaches started coming in the pouring down rain. It was raining most of the day. The group gathered together and Attended Opening Ceremonies. Our group, the Roving Wolverines received our 25 years certificate tonight, plus $100 from FMCA. There were two other groups that received their 60 years certificates tonight and they each received $450 from FMCA.
Thursday, it was a little nicer out, still pretty windy, but it stayed dry out.
There was coffee and doughnuts first thing this morning. Our group checked out the Vendors and their products. Everyone did their own thing throughout the day. We headed into Wayland to the Salvinos Sports Bar & Grill in Wayland. We had a nice dinner and a fun time with us
all being together. Stopped at the Big Dipper Ice Cream for dessert. Headed back to the fairgrounds. Some of us got together and played card bingo for an hour. The week is going by very quickly.
Friday, there was coffee and doughnuts first thing, and then we had time to walk around and check out the motorhomes they had for sale.
At 1:00, our group worked the ice cream social. Set it up, served ice cream and toppings. We also had cakes there for each of the groups that were celebrating anniversaries, and we cut them up and served them. We did the clean up afterwards.
At 4:30, we had a volunteer, vendor and officers dinner. It was delicious, very well done. Headed into the entertainment area after that and heard the group Blind Ambition ... a group of 4 older men who played
music back from our younger days. They were very good and everyone enjoyed their music.
Some of us headed back to Petre’s site and sat outside for a while.
The weather wasn’t too bad today, not hot, but comfortable.
Saturday was a nice weather day. They had a pancake and sausage breakfast to start the day. Some of the group attended the GLAMA Annual Meeting after breakfast. Some of us went down to the food booth and had lunch together. Some of our group decided to headed over to the game area and watched 4 teams play Beanbag Baseball. That looks like fun, and I think we may bring it to our rally in Manistee this summer. There was also cornhole available to participate in. We had a gathering at Petres site with four of the couples attending the rally.
Had dinner down at the food booth and then went to the Entertainment for the night. Sarah Getto performed for us and she did a great job. She’s a blind young lady 41 years old. She was born blind and taught herself her musical instruments and sings beautifully. Went to normal school, graduated from high school and college specializing in music. She even composes her own songs and music.
Sunday morning we all packed up and headed home.
Had a nice time and the weather pretty much was good. Had a nice time and the time went by quickly.
