We had 13 coaches at this rally and we all got together for a happy Hour before we left for our dinner downtown Marshall at the Grand River Brewery. We had a nice evening visiting together enjoying the food and the service was great. Headed back to Turkeyville and had a campfire at Jim and Claudia’s site.
Friday, we had morning coffee at John and Pat Daubenmier’s and rolls that we provided. Some of us got together and played our Horse Racing game at our site and some of the guys played a bucket golf that we brought. Visited with some of the group throughout the afternoon as they stopped by to check out the games we were playing. We met for dessert at Pat and John’s furnished by Gabriels. Held our business meeting and elected new officers for the next two years. Lynn and I finished our Rally Master duties with this rally,  and everyone thanked us for a job well done.  Shirley and Vern Fraley won the Gift Certificate that Vista Green gave us for a giveaway to celebrate the club’s 25th anniversary. They decided that they probably wouldn’t use it so we drew another name and Bruce and Janet Smith-Hughes won it. We headed back to the coach and watched some tv. The weather today was great.
Saturday morning coffee was at Pat and John’s with Fraley’s providing the morning treats. Becky, Lynn and I walked up to the front of the campground and checked out the Craft Show that was going on. It was raining a little bit, but we had our umbrellas and we were fine. Turned out to be a beautiful day. Checked out the store in the Turkeyville building and got some ice cream for the walk back to camp. A few of the other people wondered up to the craft show area throughout the afternoon. Becky and Terry came over in the afternoon and played some cards for a while. Around 3:00 some of us got together at the Club House and decorated the hall for the potluck. Then 4:00 Happy Hour started and people drifted in. We had some snacks set out and all the tables were decorated with mum plants. We started our dinner at 5:30, and John our president welcomed everyone and introduced the three couples that were attending that were past members. Bill and Angie Kastma, Jim and Sharon Revoir and David and Mary Jensen shared the evening with us. We also had Kevin and Denise Watters, the National Vice President of the Great Lakes Area attend the Rally with us. Brad Bockstanz gave the prayer. The food was plentiful and very good. Those that wanted to share how they became members with the group and those that had special memories talked for a while and Lee Brink, our past president, gave us some history of how the group was formed originally. We took a group picture and had cake and ice cream. The evening was planned by Tom and Michelle Maxwell and they did a very nice job. We had a door prize table set up and we drew names until everyone had won some things. It was a nice evening and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
Sunday morning, we had coffee and muffins before everyone headed home. We left for home at 12:30 and arrived home at 2:30. Was a nice week-end getaway.
