About Us
Welcome to the Roving Wolverines website. We are happy that you are exploring and hope that you will soon visit us in person!
We are one of 15 chapters in the Great Lakes Area of the Family RV Association (FRVA) and in order to become a member of our chapter, you must have a current membership with FRVA. This organization was formerly Family Motorcoach Association (FMCA), and although towables are now invited to become members, our club has retained the motorcoach only designation(Classes A, B and C) and encourages its members to educate and share tips on maintaining and traveling in their units.
We are currently a group of approximately 25 units with a mixture of new and long-term members from all over Michigan and a few from Indiana, who are primarily 55+ but don’t act their ages! We enjoy fellowship, and of course, great food, and know how to have some fun!
There are three sponsored club rallies per year in the months of May, July and September. These may be during the week or over a weekend for 3-4 days generally at campgrounds that provide full hook-ups. The membership is encouraged to attend the area convention known as Glamarama in June held in Michigan, Indiana or Ohio. August has typically been left open so those who would like to spend camping time with their families or to attend an International Convention were able to do so. A group luncheon is generally arranged for October at a restaurant convenient to the membership.
Locations for the rallies are arranged a year in advance and individual segments, such as a restaurant night out, providing some breakfast goodies or a main dish for a potluck, arranging for a special outing, or a pop-up game or two are hosted by individual volunteers. A rally fee is collected to cover expenses incurred at each event.
During the year, we are proud to select a charity to support. Recent charities have been Wounded Warriors Regiment and Harbor House Ministries in Jenison, MI.
More on the Area and International Conventions: Both are great educational opportunities and are rallies in an expanded format with many seminars by experts in their fields, crafting sessions, evening entertainment and food.
If you would like to enjoy the advantages provided in being an FRVA member (visit FRVA for more information), as well as the fun and fellowship of a local chapter, please feel free to contact us at rovingwolverines10@gmail.com . To join, simply go to the Join us page where you will find a membership application with instructions. Annual dues are set at a nominal fee to help to defray expenses during the year.
We look forward to hearing from you.
