The Roving Wolverines held their 2022 Spring Rally at the Elkhart Campground from May 12 to May 15, 2022.
Rally hosts Phyllis & Steve Thornburg and Sharon & Jim Revoir put together a “YEE HAW Round-up Theme” that included a chili cook-off and “Git a Long Little Doggie” dinner and a Pot Luck dinner.
Thursday dinner was at Callahan’s Family Restaurant in Elkhart. The service was excellent and the food was even better. Everyone was quite pleased.
The chili making contest, which provided the main course for Friday night’s dinner, was entered by 6 contestants, and prizes were awarded for the 4 most popular among the rally attendees. All 6 were excellent chilis and ranged in flavors from slightly sweet to somewhat spicey. All dinner attendees were asked to sample the chilis and vote for their 3 personal favorites. With a tally of the votes, the winners of a plethora of prizes were First Place Nancy Scholl; Second Place Claudia Pavlinik; Third Place Pat Daubenmire and Fourth Place Chris Dally.
The chili was supplemented by the “Git a Long Little Doggie” portion which was a choice of Foot-Long, ½ pound hot dogs or more normal length, 1/3-pound hot dogs, and two tables full of salads.
The rally was attended by 14 coaches, 26 people.
First Timers attending were Jim and Claudia Pavlinik and LB Hilbert. Dinner guests were club members Marv and Sally Miller.
