Nine Roving Wolerines coaches rolled into the Allegan County Fairgrounds for the 2021 Glamarama Lite Rally. To start off with, it was hot, very hot! That didn’t stop us from having a great time and nice interaction between all of us. We stayed up on the hill where we have previously been and we were glad of it because occasionally we had a breeze. There was a total of around 160 rigs at this year’s rally, which is more than they first expected us to have. The goal was 100 and we surpassed that.

Wednesday night our group went to dinner at Salvinos in Plainwell, very good food, the portions were huge and not many of us went home without little boxes with our left overs.

Thursday started out with coffee and doughnuts in one of the halls and there were seminars throughout the day. There were a few vendors in attendance in one of the exhibit halls for those that were interested in checking them out. We all received lunch tickets to use at the Allegan Band Boosters Booth when we wanted to. The food was great and a lot of us took advantage of the tickets. Some of us got together and played cards in the afternoon, even met some possible new members to our group. Opening Ceramonies took place in the evening and it was a simple greeting and welcoming by Ken Lewis, keeping with the theme of Glamarama Lite. Those that were interested stayed and played card bingo for awhile.

Friday was coffee and doughnuts again, followed later in the morning by the ice cream social. Everyone pretty much did what they wanted to do during the day. It has been really hot out all week and everyone did what they had to do to keep cool. Lynn and I were invited to dine with Skip and Linda for dinner in the evening. The guys grilled salmon and steaks on the grill. They did an excellent job and we enjoyed our evening with them. We went over to the entertainment hall and saw the duo of “Spittin’ Imagine”. They are twin brothers that entertained us with a variety of music and audience participation comedy. For it being as hot as it was in the hall they did an excellent job of entertaining us and making us laugh. We had seen these guys back in 2018 at Glamarama in Allegan. Had a bunch of us settle in at our campsite for some great sharing of ideas and what we have been up to during the winter months. Was a nice relaxing get – together. Had a beautiful sunset.

Saturday morning we had a pancake-sausage breakfast in the “dining hall”. Entertainment for the evening was the “Singing Auctioneer”. He was fun and entertaining. We ended up being the campsite host for all those that were interested to come over and meet some potential new members. I promise you we were all on our good behavior and only talked about the good stuff! Hope to see some, if not all, of those interested in joining the Roving Wolverines at our next rally in July. Could be up to 3-4 new couples.

There were a lot of stuffed animals collected again this year for our donation to the local police department. That donation was picked up Saturday evening by an officer.

Our used book exchange was a big hit this year. A lot of books were donated and a lot of them were picked up by readers who needed a new good read.

From what we understand the next Glamarama in 2022 will be held in Goshen at the Elkhart Fairgrounds.

Sunday, we said our “Till We Meet Again” greetings. Hopefully, we will all be able to connect again very soon. Happy Trails!! Enjoy your summer.
